Privacy

Last updated 19 July 2026

The short version: the only personal information this site collects is what you type into the contact form, and we use it for exactly one thing: replying to you. No tracking cookies, no analytics profiles, no advertising, no selling data. Ever.

Who we are

The Web Studio is an independent web design studio based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, UK. For anything privacy-related, email admin@the-web-studio.co.uk.

What we collect and why

When you send the contact form, we receive the details you enter: your name, email address, business name (if you give it), what you're enquiring about, and your message. We use these to reply to you and, if you become a client, to set up our work together. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries you choose to send us.

Like almost every website, our hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses) for security and to keep the site running.

Cookies

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies, which is why there's no cookie banner. The contact form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, a security check that tells humans from bots, which may use strictly-necessary technical means to do its job. That's it.

Who handles the data on the way to us

These providers process data on our behalf to deliver the service you asked for; we don't send your details anywhere else, and we never sell them.

How long we keep things

Enquiry emails are kept for as long as the conversation (or client relationship) is live, and deleted when they're no longer needed. If you'd like your enquiry deleted sooner, just ask.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to us holding it. Email admin@the-web-studio.co.uk and we'll sort it, usually the same week, always within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
